Southwest Charter School Middle Schoolers Create Works of Art
|
For the past five months, Southwest Charter School 6th-8th graders had the wonderful opportunity of taking art lessons at Geezer Gallery’s nearby working studio and gallery, Art in Action, generously funded by Zidell Companies. Professional artists, Candyce Scott and Cheryl Rogers-Tadevich, guided the kids through many printmaking and collage techniques. |

They learned how to make monoprints with Gelli printing plates, using the finest materials, and used these prints in a variety of ways to make to beautiful cards and 3D pieces. They then taught the kids how to present these pieces in a way that would make their art ready for sale. |
Special Thanks
This has been such a great educational opportunity for these kids. We are so grateful to the Geezer Gallery for offering us these excellent classes.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Candyce and Cheryl, the teachers we worked with at Geezer, to Amy Henderson, the gallery director and to Charlene Zidell, the owner of the space. The kids have enjoyed themselves so much!
